About Charles Gallery

CHARLES GALLERY has been operating since 1981 when owner Charlie Connell started lining the walls of a seafood restaurant that he owned at the time, to see if others shared his passion for collecting American paintings. When this restaurant was sold in 1985 the CHARLES GALLERY was moved to present Fitchville Road, Bozrah, CT location where it has resided for the last 35 years or so.

The gallery originally focused on Hudson River paintings and Sporting art and was known as a source for these works amongst the more prominent galleries throughout the country. Today, the concentration of the artwork is New England and East Coast paintings that offer the finer examples of a particular artist's body of work. Attention is paid to collecting the best examples available without spending outlandish funds for the most popular artist at the time. The goal is to present Quality Artwork at a reasonable price directly to the collector. Our inventory will always have examples from the Old Lyme School of CT, the Rockport / Gloucester / Cape Ann Artists of MA, and the Hudson River, Woodstock area of NY to New Hope, PA artists. Sporting Art will also remain as a strong contingent of the inventory with attention to the hunting , fishing and wildlife paintings of past and present artists.

It is the hope that Charles Gallery can continue to serve the American Art collector of the present and future with high quality artwork and at reasonable costs to ensure that we will continue to do business and bring satisfaction to our customers. Charlie Connell
